Homophones and Other Confusing Words














The topic for this week's Pre-Intermediate level English activity is homophones.

Homophones are:
  • words that sound the same but are spelt differently
  • words with a different meaning to another word with the same sound

examples:

I came to England by plane. (noun)

I don't like spicy food. I prefer plain cooking. (adjective)
