This Month in History: Amelia Earhart

This week's Upper Intermediate English lesson is about the aviation pioneer, Amelia Earhart.

Amelia Earhart made history when she became the first woman to make a solo flight across the Atlantic on May 20, 1932.

Earhart went missing on July 2, 1937, during her attempt to become the first person to fly around the world following the equator. The reason for her disappearance is shrouded in mystery. Researchers and historians have come up with a variety of different theories over the years which attempt to explain her disappearance.
