A strike is a mass walk out by workers, which has been organised to protest against unfair treatment at work or unfair changes in working conditions.

Teachers, nurses and other public sector employees in the UK went on strike on November 30 2011, to protest against pension cuts and government proposals to make them work longer before they can collect their pensions.
