A voiceover is a spoken commentary for a film, TV programme, video or advertisement, provided by a narrator who is not part of the action on screen. Voiceovers are added after the film is finished to provide information about what is happening in scenes where nobody is speaking.

Voiceovers can be either serious or funny. Compare these two clips to see a serious example of a voiceover, followed by a very funny one!
