Gridlock happens when the roads get so busy that traffic can hardly move at all, and vehicles end up crawling along at a snail's pace.

One of the biggest challenges at any Olympic Games is getting to and from the host city. Watch this video about efforts to ensure that London transport runs smoothly during the London Olympics, in order to avoid gridlock on the roads.
